Silicon Valley Business School

The Silicon Valley Business School (SVBS) began as the association of technology entrepreneurs, based in the heart of the Silicon Valley, California. SVBS teaches business, entrepreneurship and high technology law to students wishing to become the next generation of successful start-up entrepreneurs, high-technology executives and business leaders.

The one-day Entrepreneurship Seminar is based on how to form and structure a high-tech start-up, raise funds from investors, build a global business and exit.

The business and investment structures established in Silicon Valley have been adopted by venture capital and other investors in New Zealand and in high-tech hubs all over the world. More than 90% of the materials presented are applicable to New Zealand start-ups. The less than 10% that is specific to Silicon Valley is important for New Zealand entrepreneurs to understand if they plan to go international and establish operations in the U.S.

The seminar prepares entrepreneurs for raising finance from NZ investors, raising finance from U.S. investors, growing into the U.S. market, IPO and selling the business to a NZ or US acquirer. We will encourage the attendees to point out differences between U.S. and NZ where they exist, especially those with special insights and expertise.
